OAKLANDON KEEPS DEPOT

Big Four’s Petition to Abandon Station Denied.

Public service commission today denied the petition of the Big Four Railroad Company for authority to abandon their station at Oaklandon. Petition stated that expense of maintaining the station was out of proportion with the amount of business handled.

Commissioners ruled that the station was necessary because Sunnyside Sanatorium was nearby and that the population of Oaklandon was increasing. The railroad wished to establish a station at McCordsville, three miles east of Oaklandon.
