AUTO SMASHES BUGGY

AUTO SMASHES BUGGY
Mr. and Mrs. D. Smock Hurt—Driver Fails to Stop.

Mr. and Mrs. D. Smock, living on a farm east of Oaklandon. were severely injured late Saturday night when the buggy in which they were riding was struck by an automobile in the Pendleton pike, near Lawrence. The driver of the machine did not stop.

The horse became frightened at the crash and ran away, overturning the buggy. Mrs. Smock was thrown to the concrete pavement and was severely injured about the head, left side and legs. Mr. Smock held to the lines and was dragged by the horse. His body and head were severely cut and bruised and his condition is thought to be serious. Persons passing in automobiles took Mr. and Mrs. Smock to the office of Dr. R. S. Records at Lawrence, where their injuries were dressed and they were later taken home.
