HARRY WEST FINED IN CRIMINAL COURT
Harry West, proprietor of a restaurant recently burned In a mysterious way at Oaklandon, and who has been in the Criminal Court the last two days on a charge of assault and battery, was found guilty by a Jury yesterday and fined 13 and costs, which will aggregate about $100. The case, was previously tried in Justice Stout's court, where a similar fine was assessed.
West was accused of assaulting Mrs. Celeste Watson, who led a delegation that made a raid upon West's place on Sunday morning. May 8. It had been alleged that the defendant was selling intoxicating liquors in connection with his restaurant, and the object of the visitor was to confirm this rumor. The delegation was met at the door by the proprietor, who refused them entrance.
